I’ve always wanted to shoot a beach wedding, and when Jenna and Stephen invited me to be a part of their wedding day in Sea Bright, New Jersey, I was honored. There are certain people that God brings into our lives for a short season but because of who they are, the impact they leave is huge. Jenna & Stephen and their families are those people. I’ve known Jenna and her family for years, but met Stephen over Skype back several months ago and from our very first meeting, I knew this couple was not only meant for each other, but would be a huge blessing to work with and get to know. They met back in 2014 when they both attended the same Bible Study, and as soon as Stephen set eyes on her, he knew Jenna was “the one”. What he didn’t know though, at the time, was how hard he was going to have to work for her! You see, Jenna was not looking for a relationship and stubbornly avoided falling for him. But, he kept pursuing her, even openly expressing his love for her, and slowly, over several months, Jenna’s heart was won over, and they both fell in love.
The Jersey Shore holds a huge part in their relationship. Stephen proposed as the sun rose over the beach in Stone Harbor, NJ and since Jenna had always dreamed of a beach wedding, Windows on the Water, in Sea Bright was a perfect choice for their wedding.
The day started out in the gorgeous historic victorian mansion, The Strandvue, in Ocean Grove. The mansion was a perfect place for the bridal party as they got ready and all that gorgeous light pouring in the windows made for some beautiful photos! So many precious moments were shared with her mom, first look with Dad, all the way through to the end of the day, that I had to work hard to keep from crying myself! And this was NOT easy!! 😉
With every couple I work with, I ask them to write down their love story for me. It helps me to get to know them both better and I get to hear what’s important and means the most to them. I loved the perspective Stephen wrote and sums up this couple and their beautiful hearts…
“With God before me and Jenna beside me, I have everything. Little did I know walking into that Bible study that I would meet the love of my life and my future bride. Our relationship to this point has been like a book that I don’t ever want to put down, and I’m perfectly okay with taking my time to read it till the end.” This couple is JUST PRECIOUS and I was both honored and blessed to be a part of their special day! Congratulations, guys! Love you both! XOXO, Rebecca
