Photography Talk | Finding Beauty

POSTED IN: Business

I take a lot of photos. It’s my job, yes. I love the moments shared between couples in love, or families playing together, or a newborn making his entrance into the world. These are truly magical moments and this is the stuff I absolutely adore. Memories are to be treasured and capturing those moments is truly a passion of mine! However, when the pressure is off and I’m not shooting for someone else, my camera and I are free to see the world in a different light. Suddenly the things we see everyday become objects of beauty. Especially when that magical light I love so much enters into the frame and can even make a doorknob a thing of beauty. A photographer friend shared a quote with me that pretty much sums up the picture pretty well.

“To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place…I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.” –Elliott Erwitt.

It’s important for all of us to open our eyes and observe. Observe the everyday, observe the once in a lifetime, observe the ordinary and the magic. Each day, each moment really, offers us the opportunity to observe, appreciate and be thankful. So, today I’m thankful for a beautiful doorknob…and the magnificent light spilling over it that caught my eye. Go find the beauty! 😉_RGB4405
